Objectives

• To promote the religious, cultural, social, and societal interests of Muslims;
• To provide information about Islam to both Muslims and non-Muslims;
• To contribute to presenting an accurate image of Islam and thereby correct the current (negative) public perception;
• To carry out all further acts that are related to the above in the broadest sense, or that may be conducive to it.

How we achieve our objectives

• Establishing and maintaining a religious and cultural center where Islamic education, lectures, activities, tours, meetings, and other educational activities are organized and accessible to different target groups;
• Supporting Muslims in their faith and in societal matters, enabling them to be fully participating citizens in the society they live in;
• Answering various religious and social questions from visitors.

Remuneration Policy

Board members do not receive any remuneration for their board work. Expenses incurred by board members may be reimbursed, provided that prior written unanimous approval of all other board members has been obtained.

Policy Plan (Key Points)

Purpose

The policy plan confirms the objectives described above. The main goal remains to promote the religious, cultural, social, and societal interests of Muslims and to provide information about Islam to correct the perception in society.

Activities

• Financial realization of the purchase of a new building.
• Developing it into a fully-fledged prayer facility, education and knowledge center, and a meeting place for the Islamic community.
• Further developing “Dawah” (inviting to Islam) by organizing lectures and other activities for young and old.
• Teaching and memorizing the Qur’an.

Fundraising

The funds of Stichting Al Boukhari come from a consistent group of donors who frequently visit our prayer space. They contribute through monthly contributions and/or one-time donations. In addition, the foundation raises funds through benefit events where visitors can donate. Fundraising is small-scale and focuses on the social network of our visitors. We have recently also started using online fundraising and offer donations via iDEAL. For the realization of the new prayer facility, funds are also raised from other mosques in the Netherlands.

Fund Management

Funds are managed by the board of our organization. For all major investments, consultation takes place with the Islamic community.

Use of Funds

• Purchase of the new prayer facility and its renovation

• Facility management costs such as cleaning and maintenance
• Purchase of teaching and learning materials
• Purchase of promotional materials
